Our program offers a range of skills training and fitness drills from basic fundamentals all the way through advanced skills. We are currently focusing on a specific age group of 9-12yr olds. We believe that this is an important age in which children have the interest in playing the sport as well as the drive to learn the sport. It’s a great time for them to be introduced to the sport and excel at it.
At Riverview Basketball Academy, our mission is to give our youth an opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of basketball. We believe that through proper coaching our youth can grow to love the sport as well as have fun playing it, while leading a healthy and active lifestyle all at the same time. We are committed to making that a reality for all our students.
Our Coaches are experienced players. Our head coach was actually a player in the 2020 Olympics. Both of our coaches are passionate about the sport and are dedicated to passing on there knowledge of the sport to the future generations to come.

Coach Luis Lorenzo
was also born in Puerto Rico, but was raised mostly in the states. He grew up in a low income household in a very poor environment in which led him to take to the sport of basketball on his own accord at the age of 8yrs old. At around the age of 13 his mother decides to move back to Puerto Rico where Coach Luis started playing in the local town tournaments, again on his own accord and having to ask local businesses for sponsorships to be able to pay for his uniform so that he could participate.
He spent most of his time playing basketball, day in and day out which kept him out of trouble. Unfortunately for him, his living conditions at home obligate him to move out at the age of 17 in which he came back to the states to fend for himself. Even through all his hardships, he always found time to play basketball, in fact, he immersed himself in the sport in an effort to not get caught up with life’s temptations and played till around the age of 30. Within these yrs of playing at local parks, he had the opportunity of playing against college teams that would come to these parks and play the locals for training purposes. He wanted to go to college and pursue basketball, but it wasn’t possible.
Fast forward to present day, Coach Luis’s son Leo on his own accord has shown a great interest in the sport of basketball which ignited the passion for the sport in Coach Luis and in efforts to bring his son and children alike a place to learn, grow and enjoy the sport, he has founded Riverview Basketball Academy and has partnered with Coach Dynamite to bring a great basketball academy where children can pursue their interest in the sport in a fun, engaging and professional environment.
